Meet Rocky

AND FRIENDS...

RockyWe have 3 wonderful cats that hang out on our decks at the office; two sisters and a brother cat.  A few years ago, we got them all “fixed” and, of course, fed them and named them the most obvious names possible:  Blackie, Boots and Fluffy.  Pretty original, huh?

One day, Rocky, the neighborhood raccoon, showed up and decided he wanted in on the cat food….and is now a “regular”.  He doesn’t bother the cats.  In fact, I suspect that they all live together under our decks. We don’t know if Rocky is a he or a she, but what a personality and, in his own way, contributes to the excitement around the office.

Update..........Summer 2010

July 22, 2010...Okay, so Rocky is definitely a "she".  We have seen  her showing up now for a couple of weeks and suspect that she is now supporting a family under the deck. Sure enough, today we saw three babies!

Later the same week we saw another mama and two more babies.  Now there are 5 babies and 2 mamas showing up every day.

August 2010:  The babies are growing and playing.  What little rascals they are.  We watch at the window every day and see them playing and frolicking around.  They are so cute but they also get a swat from mom once in a while when she is teaching them manners.

Update...........Fall 2010

October 22, 2010...we ended up with 7 raccoon's under our deck this summer.  They have all gone back to the river, at least for now.  There were two mama's and five babies.  We had fun watching them grow and play.  However we are thankful that they have gone out to hunt for themselves so they will survive the winter.  One of the babies showed up a couple of days ago and had an injured paw but looked healthy otherwise.  We will see what next spring has in store.  Hopefully we won't end up with 20 raccoons under our deck!

Meet Holly...our office mascot.  She is a 9 year old St. Bernard and loves to lay in the snow!
